SOTA is a PMC/Mercenary based group and has in the past used both US Woodland and MARPAT Woodland BDUs, having these additional uniforms available is a plus but is not required. Additionally, we are currently evaluating the implementation of the ATACS pattern. ATACS BDUs may be implemented as a team requirement in the future.
CQC/Indoor Loadout
_______________________
Some of the requirements for our CQC team are very similar to our general/outdoor loadout requirements, however the CQC is not required to participate on SOTA. Aquisition of our CQC loadout is prerequisite to joining our competition CQC stacks, however. Regardless of whether an operator possesses all of the requirements below, a primary weapon shooting at or below the indoor FPS limit (generally 330FPS) is mandatory for participation in our CQC trainings.
Approved Weapons
Primary: M4 or MP5
- Sling System for Primary Weapon
- (5) Midcap, Standard Cap or Realcap Magazines for Primary
Secondary: 1911 or Glock Preferred
- (3) Magazines for Secondary Weapon System
- Easily-accessible hip, vest, or dropleg-mounted holster
- (2) Flash Bang Grenades (must make audible "bang"
- Frag Grenades may be used but must propel BBs
Specialty weapons are also permitted on a limited basis. These include CQC-legal M249s, shotguns, less-lethal weapons (blue tape or blue paint must be clearly visible on the weapon), and MP7 or MP9 variant sub-machine guns. If an operator wishes to participate with a specialty weapon, it is strongly recommended that they also own a standard primary weapon.
