As the third operation in the Ash Bash event series, ABIII was a breakout game for SOTA. It was the first game to be hosted at a field other than the now-defunct ABT. ABT, while a fantastic small private field for skirmishes, was not practical for hosting more than 20-30 people. Sota elected to host ABIII at the Warpaint field, which was larger than ABT and with much less dense terrain.

The gameplay consisted of the three-way sector control game over seven sectors. The game design was highly innovative, stationing an admin at each sector and allowing it to function as a spawn point as long as at least one member of the controlling team was present within the sector and the sector was not contested by enemy fire. There were many secondary objectives that used several detailed props, including setting up a functional wireless link to a communications array to activate airstrikes.

The storyline was centered around the a post-apocalyptic theme and was praised for its depth and ability to connect with and motivate the participants. Lunch was provided for players, as was a fantastic raffle with prizes courtesy of Airsoft Outlet NW and AirsoftAmmoSupply.
